Meet Dr. Amanda

The Story Behind Root & Rise

After becoming a mom, I saw firsthand the gaps in women's healthcare, and I couldn't unsee them. I became a pelvic floor physical therapist because I knew we could do better. That's where I rooted, in purpose and in a deeper way of caring.

In those early years, I was the only pelvic PT in my clinic. No mentor. No roadmap. Just me and my patients learning together. It was meaningful but isolating, and it revealed a problem I'm now passionate about solving for others.

Purpose alone, however, wasn't enough inside an insurance model. I was exhausted, torn between caring for my patients and caring for myself. So I took the leap, stepping out to build a cash-based practice that grew from solopreneur to co-founder of a thriving clinic. That's where I learned to rise, discovering my strength as a systems-minded thinker and strategic builder, the kind of behind-the-scenes leader who turns vision into structure and brings clarity to complexity.

Then life called me to refine. My two neurodivergent kids led me into homeschooling, and the practice had to flex around that, not the other way around. Right now I'm running both Root & Rise Consulting and Unbound Pelvis solo, and I plan to keep it that way for a while. Smaller is what works for this season of my life. Sustainability isn't a goal I help women reach. It's the way I actually live and work.

Now, through Root & Rise Consulting, I help other women in healthcare build practices that grow at a pace they can actually sustain. Real strategy. Real systems. Built for the woman, not against her.

The way I work with women now is the way I learned to live and work myself. Here's what I bring to it.

I bring more than 10 years of leadership experience to this work. Six years as a clinic director, three years as a successful solopreneur earning a full-time income in part-time hours, and co-founder of a cash-based pelvic physical therapy practice that doubled its monthly revenue within 21 months, growing from a small team to a fully supported, sustainable clinic.

I'm an analytical, systems-minded thinker and strategic builder. The kind of high-level starter who steps into vision and turns it into structure, who joins early and builds the operational foundation that lets a practice actually run. My strength lies in systems, structure, and strategy, helping women in healthcare transform their big, purpose-driven ideas into businesses that grow at a pace they can actually sustain.

Owner of Root & Rise Consulting, a business coaching for women in healthcare and clinical mentorship.

Clinically, I'm a physical therapist with over 16 years of experience, board-certified in Women's Health Physical Therapy (WCS), with CAPP-Pelvic and CAPP-OB certifications and 10 years holding my Orthopaedic Certified Specialist (OCS) credential. I've built clinical mastery alongside operational leadership, which is rare, and it's the integration that makes this work different.

My approach blends clinical expertise, operational leadership, and lived experience balancing motherhood, neurodivergence, and entrepreneurship. I understand what it means to hold both the vision and the exhaustion, and I understand, clinically and personally, that sustainable change happens at the pace your nervous system can actually sustain. I know how to design systems that let you succeed without running yourself ragged.

My work as a business consultant is inseparable from my work as a pelvic health clinician.

Every day, I witness what happens when brilliant providers are forced into systems that don’t honor their nervous systems, their families, or their humanity…
